Mary E. Senecal CHITTENDEN — Mary E. Senecal, 96, died May 14, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 24, 1923 in Rutland, the daughter of James and Mary (Emery) Mailhiot. Mary was devoted to her family and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and milk chocolate. She was a member of the Chittenden Seniors Group where she made many friends. Surviving are two daughters, Jane McClellan (Ken) of Trotwood, Ohio and Roberta Janoski of Chittenden; a special niece Nancy Church of Tonto Basin, Arizona; 10 grandchildren, Ellen (Mickey) Young, Sharon (Stephen) Crout, Nancy (Mark) Buczynski, Daniel (Audrey) Tilden, Michael (Amy) McClellan, Matthew (Jenny) McClellan, Marcel (April) Begnoche, Stephen (Brandie) Cottrell, Amy Figueroa, Mark Leaver; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Robert E. Senecal on Sept. 19, 2009; a daughter, Laura “Bibbitt” Tilden; a son, Jack Senecal; a grandson, David Cottrell; a nephew Joseph “Butch” Mailhiot, his wife Detra and their son Billy. A celebration of life will be held at the North Chittenden Grange Hall on May 27 at 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday May 28, 2019 in Maple Grove Cemetery in East Wallingford. Arrangements are by the Clifford Funeral Home.
