Roxanne M. Phelps CLARENDON — Roxanne Marie Phelps, 53, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, at her residence. She was born Jan. 6, 1967, in Proctor, the daughter of Albert “Butch” and Nancy (Alger) Stevens. She graduated in 1984 from Mill River Union High School. Mrs. Phelps served the Town of Clarendon for over 20 years as the health officer. She was employed for over 20 years by Friendly's Restaurant in Rutland. She enjoyed softball as a member of several area teams and a coach for her daughter’s teams. Survivors include three daughters, Casey Stevens of Clarendon; Chelsea Furman, Cierra Phelps, both of Bomoseen; a son, Dawson McCoy, of Rutland Town; her mother of Clarendon; three brothers, Paul Rickert of Pittsford, Shawn Stevens of Rutland Town, Scott Stevens of Castleton; her former husband, Michael Phelps of Tinmouth; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father in 1990; and a brother, Michael Stevens, in April 2000. Calling hours are from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, at Aldous Funeral Home, 44 North Main St., Rutland. A Celebration of Life will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, potluck style, at West Rutland American Legion Hall. Burial will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery.
