Last Sunday (April 28), The Sparkle Barn in Wallingford held its opening for the Mill River Unified Union School District art show. The event showcased the artwork of students from each of the five schools of MRUUSD. Parents, students, MRUUSD staff and community members visited to see the art and enjoy refreshments. Art teacher Jess Perkins worked with The Sparkle Barn owner, Stacy Harshman, to make this amazing event happen. Students were thrilled to see their art in a setting outside the school walls. Beyond that though, it just showed what can happen when members of the community partner to provide great experiences for our kids.

Thank you, Stacy, for being so welcoming to our young artists; thank you, Ms. Perkins, for working with the kids and your colleagues to pull the hundreds of pieces together to display; and thank you especially to the students for sharing your creativity and talent with the rest of us.
