Thank you to the Rutland Herald and reporter Kate Barcellos for your excellent coverage of the arrival of 10 Fresh Air children to families in our area of Vermont. Watching the campers, all residents of the New York City area, step off the bus and unite, or reunite, with their host families was a moving experience and one that represents the best of what Vermont has to offer: beautiful green hills and mountains, fruitful farms, countless opportunities for outdoor recreation, and the generosity and compassion of its residents.

There are a number of children waiting in New York for a host family this summer. Fresh Air Camp organizer Joanne Pencak notes that there is a need for host families for campers ages 12-13 for the week of July 30-Aug. 6. Please contact Joanne at 802-353-0615 or joanne.pencak@friendlytown.org if your family can provide a week of Fresh Air for one of these children.
